Look advert montage edit

I enjoyed this piece of work the most because it was not meant to be very serious and we all just went around taking random pictures of ourselves having a laugh but i think it turned out quite well and similar to the original 'look' advert.

Ident and titles

I am most proud of my ident and titles on this clip because i think my ident looked very good for a first time using livetype and also it good feedback from the class that it looked like a professional ident.

Montage Editing

To create our 10 second new look advert inspired video we had to make a quick plan of the shots that we would take and then we went out and just took loads of pictures that we thought would look good in the video. We then uploaded them onto iMovie and changed the speed of the photos so they were changing quite fast like the original. The producers of the original would have to pay for all the professional photographers, models and all the props for their version as we were just using everything that we already had.

Telling Stories

In the shot 'match on action' the camera follows the action that is currently happening in the shot for example in this shot the woman is dealing cards onto the table so the camera moves down from their faces to the cards and then back up to their faces because that is now the main focus point.

This is another example of 'match on action' because the camera is on his hands in a close up playing the piano which is the main thing happening in this shot.

This is an example of 'Master Shot'  it is used here to set up spatial relationships between the characters and also set the scene, But it is also a follow up of the match on action shot from the previous shot because it is a long shot of the man still playing the piano

This is an example of Eye line match shot because the character is looking to the right and in the next shot you see what she was looking at so it follows her point of view.

This is an example of 'Shot reverse shot'. It is used when characters are in a conversation so we can see everyone who talks and how the characters react to what has just been said.

These are examples of a 'Montage Shot' because the clips are in a non chronological order and seem out of place but show lots of action in a short time period and have been cut and added in. The camera angles vary in a montage because it adds excitement to the shot for example in the shot of the car it is from above and is ahead of them following them then it suddenly cuts to another shot of a group of friends sitting around laughing from a lower angle which also makes them seem taller.

James Druce - Logo & Titles

WWW:

1 - My Logo looks very good and got feed back from some people in class that it looked professional

2- The Fonts are big so they are easy to read.

3- It was my first time using Livetype so it was not too bad considering I have never used it.

4- The titles go well with the video background.

EBI:

1- The titles go a bit too fast to read clearly

2- If there was some sound on the logo or credits

3- If the titles were a different colour because it can be hard to read with the sun behind them.

4- If i slowed everything down a little bit because it seem to be too 'in your face' kind of feel.

Shoot it autumn

WWW:

- My Clip used a variety of camera angles to make it more interesting to the viewers

- My video had quite a good 'story' to it about the life of autumn leaves.

-The Shot where the leaves are falling down from the tree went well because it looks realistic like they are actually falling off a tree and dying.

-The editing went quite well seeing as i have never used iMovie before

EBI:

- If the camera was more stable and didn't jolt around.

- All the video effects worked and did not make the mac crash so i could add slow motion to my clip.

- If i made it a bit longer so it could really capture the autumn feel.

- If i used the fig rig to make the walking recording smoother.

- When i pan using the tripod, to have it looser so it moves slowly and with no shaking around.
